Ten Degrees South lodge is a rustic retreat on the shores of the Western Indian Ocean on southern Tanzania's Swahili coast. It is set in the quiet haven of Mikindani, one of the area's historic coastal trading towns, just north of the Mnazi Bay Ruvuma Estuary Marine Park and the border with Mozambique. A small hotel offering comfortable and clean guesthouse or en-suite hotel accommodation, Ten Degrees has a beautiful shaded open air bar and restaurant, and a Sundowner platform that enjoys stunning views across Mikindani Bay. The regional capital of Mtwara is 12km away and day trips to the Marine Park to visit Msimbati and the famous Ruvula beach, or mini safaris to the Ruvuma River to see hippos and crocodiles can be organised. With our sister company eco2 diving, marine research and education centre we can offer tailored dive holiday packages or you can simply join eco2's daily two dive trips to Mikindani or Mnazi Bay. For marine enthusiasts there is also the chance to get involved in marine research and coral reef conservation activities.
